Life Skills. Books. Perhaps No2 Son should read these. Wonder if there's a chapter on applying for jobs?
And here's a return to the old notion of receiving Books as prizes. This is my Dad in 1955 receiving one of his 6 book prizes for topping all his subjects at Grammar School. A few years ago he gave each of his daughters two of the books. I don't have this one. I wonder which of you sisters does??

And you've added angle which is good, too!
About N in the wagon- She will read just about anywhere. But the wagon was my choice. I'm taking a photography course and needed her to model in the wagon. But she did stay there for awhile.
Nice shot. Love the one of your dad too. Great keepsake.
Love the shot - I always like to see what people have on their bookshelf!
I think that books make great gifts - I almost always give one for graduation, etc. Not quite the same as a book being a 'prize', but close!
I love the one of your dad. That's so cute. And it is sad that receiving books is becoming so antiquated...
I love the idea of receiving books as a prize! That needs to happen now instead of video games and such!
Great angle on your book shot and love that old photo of your dad. Oh how times have changed! If kids got a book as a prize nowadays, that would be a frown instead of a smile.
love the angle too! i've got to work on that.
I LOVE the 2nd photo - what a great photo to have of your Dad.
I think books should still be given as all prizes and gifts. They really are the gift that keeps on giving...
Love the pic of your dad!!!
I don't think I learned any of my life skills from a book, maybe that's why it's taking so long!LOL ; )
I love the old photo of your dad. They should still gives books as prizes, that would be great!
I love the dear old dad picture!
love that one of your dad! what a great photo to have & doesn't he look proud!
Maggie, I have to admit it's a bookshelf at work! We certainly do have lots of books at home too; I am currently reading Jasper Fforde 'The Fourth Bear', Bryce Courtenay 'Four Fires', and 'The Year of Living Biblically'.(can't remember the author)
I just happened to be taking photos at work so this is what you got :-)
why *don't* they give out books as prizes any more? it was a great idea. nice shot and a beautiful keepsake of your dad!
I agree, great angle of the books, and I love the picture of your dad. I also think books make the best gift and prize.
Love the image of your dad. My students REGULARLY receive books as prizes.
Great job on the other books...love the angle.
What a nice mix! Like it!!
How cool about your Dad!!
Nice shot! I really like the one of your dad too. :)
I loved books growing up and still do. Would have had an expression similar to your Dad if I had received a book as a prize!
great pictures! i especially love the one of your dad!
That shot of your dad is pretty cool. He's very "Ozzie and Harriet" - if you know what I mean. Could be the hair
