Words of Wisdom

Youth is wasted on the young.

Some Are Lucky, Some Are Not

You know when you're standing in a field and looking over the fence and going, "Gee it looks good over there in that neck of the woods. Boy I'd like to get over there. My life would be SO different if only I could get into that field."

And then someone opens the gate?

And suddenly you're not sure why you wanted to go there in the first place and your own, mud ridden, bumpy patch seems very comfortable, thank you very much, and why on earth would you want to leave?

Well that's how I'm feeling right now.

Any advice? It's job related by the way ;-)

Do the list...pros on one side and cons on the other. Look at benefits and all the other costs (drive time, etc.) Hope you can figure out what you want to do...changing jobs is hard!

Oh, I got nothing here. But it is all a good reminder to be happy in my own pasture.

The pros/cons does always work for the hubs when he is in job-hell.

Keep us updated!

See what made you want to open the gate in the first place... If none of those are happening then think of going back, but if there is any hope then keep trying as hard as it may be. I'm sure you will make the right decision - will be thinking of you.

How obvious is it that you were meant for a life onstage? It's sad that you let a bit of drive-by VCA change things.

Are you allowed to maybe check out the new pasture first, before committing to moving there? There could be a lovely little stream a little further in, just out of sight, maybe an orchard just over that hill.
Of course on the flip side, there's always Dorothy, from The Wizard Of OZ: "The next time I go looking for my heart's desire, I won't look any further than my own backyard".
But you know, Dorothy was kind of whacked-out on drugs a lot of the time, so what does she know?
Always happy to be of no use!

I don't know what's on either side of the gate, but I know you've had times of frustration recently with your job so it seems like it's worth finding out as much as you can at the very least. Good luck getting it all figured out!

Yikes.

No advice, except to say that the fact that you're aware of it at all is a good sign? Maybe?

Oy. :)
