Remember how I once said there was no Starbucks in Australia? Well I was wrong. There are 61 Starbucks stores who employ 600 staff. But its OK 'cause apparently, according to the radio this morning, they're closing 'em all down.
Further Update: Apparently there are 85 in Australia so they are only closing most of them down. Different radio station in the car on the way to work....
Work? Work??? Hell, Am I at WORK??????? Better go do some.

Yes, they are closing two of the four that we have in our city, so I have heard. I followed your link, and read the great story of the buses, the cold, and the wonderfully warm coffee. I had a similar experience with Starbuck's coffee, surprisingly at the beach once on spring break. Naturally, we thought it would be warm, hot even, in Florida during May...this particular year, not so warm, COLD really. We had to buy sweatshirts at a souvenir shop (wore them EVERYWHERE) and we RAN into a Starbucks and demanded HUGE HOT coffees....silly! They are there when you need them...what a shame that you have just discovered you have some and now they are all closing.
Every one of them? I did hear that they closing some. We even have some streets with one on two corners across from each other. Crazy.
They are closing a bunch of them down here, too! Not a big coffee fan myself - but the peppermint hot chocolate is a total treat! (in the winter)

Ok...go FIND one, before it closes...and drink some of that goodness!!!!!
I think there's about 85 in the CBD alone. Since seeing how much I have to pay for posh coffee in Oz, I've stopped buying them at any coffee shops. Fortunately both of my jobs have posh coffee machines!
gah! we have at the very least 5 within spitting distance of our house. i cannot resist the call of the coffee though...so it comes in handy. (plus i use it as my office on my days of work away from home!)
We have dozens of them around here. It's actually pretty crazy how many. But I'm probably the only preson on earth who doesn't need a regular Starbucks fix. I don't like coffee.
I don't need Starbucks the way some people do (coughMYHUSBANDcough), but it saddens me to think they're closing some of them. :( It's a comforting thing, those Starbucks locations on every corner.
