First of all there was New Year's Eve; hot, with very good company, swimming and some of this:
Then there was the January Ugly; a party by our pool where we started off with this:
followed up with a bit of this:
moved on to this:
decided it was the right occasion to finally open this:
(21 Year aged Chivas Regal, bottled in honour of the Queen's Coronation in 1954(?))
which resulted in faces like these:
and the pool looking like this:
!!
After that there was a whole Sunday in recovery mode.
Then I started sewing again.
This is one is for Himself and once more a closer look at the print is in order.
And finally, there is THIS!Whew.
The holidays are roaring rapidly towards their inevitable fragmentation and conclusion. Next week the teachers are back for two days and, realistically, probably three. We then have a four day weekend in celebration of Australia Day and it's back to the frontlines on Wednesday the 27th :-(
We also have to cross the bridge that is the Baby Angel's new school. She gets back from Sydney on Friday and then there will be time for the nerves and dread to set in. I'm hoping Grandma and Grandad will take her on her first day to smooth the road.
Meanwhile, I am making the most of my time with Mum and Dad. I had better start doing some school prep though; I have started having those 'back at school in front of the class and having never looked at the text book before' dreams!

one happy family...
Have a nice day...
TQ for your comments for both Blogs.
Dess Blog: Yes, the school that I'm teaching now is a cluster school, i.e. the students are the "chosen ones". They are well educated (supposed to) and they really love the school. So.., I do not have much problem on discipline. And of course, they are always cheerful..
Maths Blog: I do have problems with certain students, especially the "end classes" concerning Mathematics. I usually relate difficult concepts to funny examples and make silly jokes so that they can understand the concept easily. Lately, I include images from computers to make them really understand those difficult concepts...
I'm following your blogs so that we can change ideas in the near future... Have a nice day!!
Have a wonderful visit with your parents!
And all the luck to BA starting at her new school!
Looks like quite the fun New Years! It is so funny to see you guys in swim suits and looking really warm, when we are freezing our tootsies off on the other side of the hemisphere. ;)
That shirt is great, too! Are you getting lots of use out of your new serger?
Wow, that looks like a fun (and busy!) holiday! I'm so glad you are getting to spend time with your parents. I think I sometimes take mine for granted, since they live so close.
Good luck to the BA on her first day at her new school! We've all been in that situation, and it's never easy. I'll keep her in my prayers!
FUN! Enjoy the time with your Mum and Dad!!
Looks like a great time! Neat shirt too! Hope you have a nice visit and good luck with the new school!
I love the different views of the pool after opening that lovely bottle- hilarious! What a fun time...so glad you are enjoying your holiday and your parents! My vacation has been over since Jan.4! Although I have barely been at school because Aubrey is in the hospital. Now, I am offically off for 2 weeks since they baby will be born on Monday.
I sincerely hope the new school goes well for BA and that you find some time for prep work- I seriously know all about those kinds of dreams! It will be fine. Best New Year wishes to you and your family. :)
SO FUN! I am surprised every time I see your pictures from this time of year and you're in a pool -- on New Year's we had almost a foot of snow! I guess that's the wonder of half a world's worth of geography, isn't it?! Hope that you had a great visit with your parents!
200 posts. that's what it said next to your name in my bloglines. seriously. Since I've last read you, you've written 200 posts - yikes!!!
I have to admit to not yet perusing said 200 posts, I was going to tonight, but since it's already 11:30, I think I should head to bed and start on those tomorrow, considering they may take me all day to get through. :-)
Can't wait to catch up!
Man, I've missed all of your stories!
I didn't get through all 200 posts, but I did go back several months.
First of all, I'm so sorry that I missed your birthday. Hope it was great!
Do all of your schools require uniforms? I have to say - ick! Not on the idea of uniforms, but the uniforms themselves - yikes!
Oh, and I'm so sorry about your recent sailing incident!
I'm hoping to keep up a little better now that I'm cooped up in the house for the winter.
~we'll see.... :-)
